SN 2026dix is a supernova discovered on February 16, 2026 by the MASTER robotic telescope network, appearing within the spiral arms of the galaxy NGC 3913 in Ursa Major. NGC 3913 is a faint, face-on spiral galaxy located about 54 million light-years away. Some early reports and spectroscopic follow-up have classified SN 2026dix as a Type IIb “stripped-envelope” core-collapse supernova, a category in which the exploding star had lost most, but not all, of its outer hydrogen envelope before detonating. Total image time was 24.5 minutes after culling some images.
