SN 2026dix is a supernova discovered on February 16, 2026 by the MASTER robotic telescope network, appearing within the spiral arms of the galaxy NGC 3913 in Ursa Major. NGC 3913 is a faint, face-on spiral galaxy located about 54 million light-years away. Some early reports and spectroscopic follow-up have classified SN 2026dix as a Type IIb “stripped-envelope” core-collapse supernova, a category in which the exploding star had lost most, but not all, of its outer hydrogen envelope before detonating. Because this event occurred very recently, this description relies on preliminary discovery and follow-up reports rather than a fully settled literature; readers should treat specific figures (brightness, exact distance, and classification) as subject to revision as further observations and analysis are published.
